Training & Instructional Video

This project was a series of courses, each made up of multiple classes held over several months, built to train members of a ministry team. Most sessions had two parts: a teaching portion, followed by an "activation" portion where participants put what they'd just learned directly into practice with each other.

Production ran on a three-camera setup — a static wide shot for overall coverage, plus two of us operating cameras, often moving through the room to capture the activation portions as they happened. Audio ran on lavalier mics for the two hosts, plus a wireless handheld for audience questions.

The real challenge came in the edit. During activation, the room would often split into separate small groups happening simultaneously, then come back together — so a standard multi-cam edit wasn't enough on its own. We had to develop a way to structure the footage so that someone watching later, with no context, could actually follow what was happening and why.

The finished videos are used as ongoing training material — new members watch them, then discuss what they saw together as a group. This project represents a different kind of work for us: structured, recurring, corporate-style training content, built to hold up over repeated use rather than a single viewing.
