Produced for Life 107.1's "a Life story" series, this episode follows Terri Douglas and her family through an infertility journey that led them to adoption — and the devastating moment they were asked to return the child they had come to love, due to a paperwork issue outside their control. The story continues through the family's road to healing, and the adoption that brought their son into their lives.

We shot this as a multi-camera interview with a partner on set, capturing B-roll throughout the day. We returned separately to film additional footage of the family at home — including quiet, reenacted moments Terri described in her interview, like her husband walking their dog, bringing a few key beats of the story visually to life rather than leaving them only spoken.

It's an example of how we handle material that requires real care — letting the story breathe, and trusting the person telling it to carry the weight of their own experience.
